Kaili was born in the mountains of Utah, began her education in Northern New Jersey and now resides near Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ever since she was a little girl, she always enjoyed sketching and carried a sketch pad wherever she went. While home schooled, during her elementary years, Kaili had the opportunity to study art from a couple of local Ann Arbor artists. It was in the first year of high school, she knew that creating art is what she would do as her life’s work. She aspires to be an art therapist. She enjoys working with people, both young and old, and art therapy will be a wonderful way to use her artistic talents to help others who are experiencing physical and/or mental challenges. She is now working with Claudia Selene, who studied at the The Ravenswood Atelier Art School, to improve her artistic technique. Kaili has donated and sold art in the Circle of Art which raises money for Food Gatherers. She won a local contest which placed her original artwork on a banner which hung in downtown Saline. Since freshman year, she has her artwork displayed in Saline High School’s annual art show. Kaili has been a member of the National Art Honor Society for four years and has worked collaboratively on several painted murals. She has created several pieces of art for various church events, focusing on raising money for youth ministries. Her passion for mission work and community service led her to Detroit this past summer. There she spent time working on mosaic murals for a Little League ballpark and painted plywood boards that were to be used to bring a little beauty to some of the abandoned buildings throughout the city. Kaili hopes her passion for art will enrich the lives of others.
